To celebrate her 38th birthday in August, Meghan Markle has been given a 'special gift' by the Queen.

According to The Mirror, the Duchess of Sussex plans to spend her birthday with Harry and baby Archie at the Queen's favourite residence and holiday home, Balmoral. The monarch usually spends time there during the summer, along with her husband Prince Philip, but it'll reportedly be the first time that Meghan has visited the estate in Scotland.

An insider told the publication: 'It’s no secret Balmoral is Her Majesty’s favourite home and that’s why this invite is so special and heartfelt.

'The Queen and Prince Philip adore the couple and, of course, their new great-grandson Archie, and they have invited them to Balmoral for a few days. It is testament to Meghan that she has been given this invite. It’s a huge honour.'

The celebrations will include afternoon tea and a special cake which will be prepared by the Queen's staff. Meghan, Harry and Archie will also get their own wing so that they can spend time together.

It has been reported that the Queen gets on very well with Meghan, with a royal insider revealing: 'They have a love of dogs in common and Meghan knows how to make her laugh.'

On one of their first official outings together, the Queen was photographed chuckling with Meghan, so their bond is evident. Offering the Sussexes a stay at Balmoral to celebrate Meghan's birthday is a very special gift from the monarch, and we're sure they'll have a lovely time in Scotland.
