Lupita Nyong'o is about to raise the bar when it comes to Cannes fashion.

When we heard the news that the actress had arrived in Cannes, our ears perked up. To say it's the best news ever may be a bit extreme - but certainly the best news of the week.

Why are we so excited by Lupita's mere presence in the city? Because it means big things are about to happen.

The Oscar winner has been on our fashion radar for nearly a year now. She delighted us with each new look during awards show season. She made chic FROW appearances during Paris Fashion Week. And she got everyone talking with her buzzworthy Met Ball dress.

But we've never seen Lupita on a red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival before - and it doesn't get any more fashionable than that.

So far, Lupita has only attended the Calvin Klein Women in Entertainment party on Thursday night. Because it wasn't a film premiere, we didn't get the full glamour of Cannes. But she did look lovely in a shimmering midnight-blue Calvin Klein frock and strappy silver heels.

We're not sure where Lupita will pop up next, but we're sure she'll be bringing it when she does set foot on the red carpet. Looks like Blake Lively has got a bit of competition.
