Prince William’s athletic forte may be playing polo with brother Prince Harry, but though he may be a polo pro, it looks like Prince William might need to keep practicing his football skills.
Yesterday, the Duke of Cambridge played along with the Wildcats Girls’ Football program and made our hearts ache in the process.
The future King is no stranger to connecting with his country and people, from hugging a survivor of the tragic Grenfell Tower fire to opening up about his mother Princess Diana’s death to help raise awareness for mental health.
It’s no surprise he was willing to hit the field — and take a shot — with England’s next football star. Take a look at this video shared by the Kensington Palace Instagram:
Now, Prince William may have gone easy on this young girl, but that successful kick is easily a stepping stone for a future champion.
The palace explains the program aims to inspire girls aged 5-11 to ‘gain a lifelong love of sport’ as they participate in football and develop skills.

Prince William also met with the Lionesses, England’s national women’s football team. He wished them good luck on their way to the Netherlands for the 2017 UEFA Women’s EURO.
As president of the Football Association, the father of two had to of course show off his skills to both teams.

With a swift kick, he scores against the Lioness goalie.
FYI: She may have gone easy on the Prince.
