We’ve seen Lady Gaga in just about every different guise imaginable in recent years - but never before as the Christmas fairy.

And that’s exactly what she dressed as yesterday, as she stepped out to celebrate the launch of her very own festive store – Gaga’s Workshop – at Barney’s in New York.

But Gaga wasn’t just any festive fairy, oh no. The lady herself arrived in a custom-made Chanel ballgown, an outfit suited to even the most festive of occasions.

And the Lady looked positively delighted as she signalled the opening of her very own take on Santa’s Workshop in the US capital.

According to the starlet, her self-designed Gaga’s Workshop, which has taken over an entire floor in famous department store Barney’s, stocks 'all sorts of affordable presents' inspired by her very own style.

'There's all sorts of affordable presents here, and they are guilt free. It's the dream of what music and culture are all about, and these are things that can get lost when you focus too much on commercialism,’ she said.

‘This is, for me, a much more whimsical approach, a Pop Art approach.’

The Lady officially opened the store, before greeting excited shoppers, who had gathered below to watch the songstress make her dramatic entrance.

Gaga was also joined at the event by a host of celebs, including Gossip Girl Blake Lively, actor Alan Cumming, and stylist stylist Nicola Formichetti.

Later in the evening the busy singer dashed to the International Emmy Awards, where she presented a gong to British producer Nigel Lythgoe.
