Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise spent some quality time in New York this weekend as the actress taught her daughter to ride her first bike

Katie Holmes looked on proudly as little Suri Cruise mastered the skill of riding her first bike over the weekend.

Katie spent some time with her six-year-old daughter in one of New York's parks as Suri got to grips with riding the cute pink bike during a playdate with friends.

Still with her stablisers on, Suri concentrated hard on the task at hand before Holmes scooped her up and carried her back to their NYC apartment.

It was announced last week that Katie Holmes and Jeanne Yang will be going head-to-head with Michael Kors at New York Fashion Week in two weeks time.

Holmes & Yang will present their spring/summer 2013 collection during the same time slot as Kors on September 12.

The fashion world will be watching, Katie!
