Kate Middleton's hat-maker tops bill at champagne tasting

A wine tasting, a fashion show, and a preview of The Duchess of Cambridge's favourite milliner's new collection made for a very British evening

This year has given us ample opportunity for some Union Jack waving, from the Diamond Jubilee to the Olympics and the Paralympics.

But on top of all that, I was lucky enough to spend a delightful evening in a dark cellar in St James’ in the company of some fine British brands.

Berry Brothers & Rudd, the oldest wine merchant in London, played host to a fashion show of British designers.

After tasting five different sparkling wines, including an English one, we were treated to a fashion show from British couture designer Lisa Redman to showcase her signature hand embellished dresses.

The crowning glory came from Lock & Co, whose couture milliner Sylvia Fletcher is a favourite of the Duchess of Cambridge, showcasing 10 hats from the beautiful new autumn/winter collection.
