Jennifer Lawrence opted for understated elegance as she arrived at the film’s opening in New York
Jennifer Lawrence may have been a surprise attendee at The Great Gatsby premiere in New York on Wednesday evening but her choice of outfit was a perfectly planned out masterpiece. Clad in a black dress by Viktor + Rolf the Oscar winner looked every inch the superstar.

Careful not to draw attention away from the film’s main cast, Jennifer Lawrence played down her make-up preferring a fresh-faced dewy look in favour of heavy hues. She wore her newly-cut hair up with slight height at the crown to give a touch of understated elegance to her ensemble.
For just the right dose of glamour the actress held a gold Valentino box clutch as she headed to the Avery Fisher Hall at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts where The Great Gatsby premiere was taking place.
Jennifer Lawrence was joined by a whole host of stars including the film’s cast – Carey Mulligan, Leonardo Di Caprio, Isla Fisher and Tobey Maguire. Also in attendance was Jay-Z (the man responsible for the film’s soundtrack) as well as Florence Welch who features on one of the tracks.
