Gossip Girls dazzle at 100th episode party

Blake Lively, Leighton Meester and Michelle Trachtenberg set flashbulbs alight on the red carpet in New York

The Gossip Girls – and boys – were out in force over the weekend, to attend a star-studded New York bash in celebration of the stylish show’s 100th episode. Blake Lively, Leighton Meester andMichelle Trachtenberg joined cast mates Penn Badgley, Ed Westwick and Chace Crawford on the red carpet at the glittering event, held at the city’s swanky Cipriani Wall Street.

Leading the Upper East Side pack was lovely Ms Lively, who set flashbulbs alight in a daring tassled Marchesa number – we wonder if her on-screen alter ego Serena Van Der Woodsen would approve?

Fresh from filming the show’s secretive wedding scenes, Leighton Meester hit the red carpet in a figure-hugging cream mini, closely followed by returning starlet Michelle Trachtenberg in a chic navy jumpsuit.

Looking seriously dapper, gossip boys Chace Crawford, Penn Badgley and Ed Westwick were next to arrive, smouldering for photos, before joking around in front of the cameras.

A host of other famous faces – including actress of the moment Chloe Moretz, Kelly Rutherford and Kaylee DeFer - were also on hand at the event, held to celebrate the success of the Gossip Girl show.

The glitzy bash came as executive producer Joshua Safran slammed rumours the show was set to be axed, revealing it’ll definitely be going ahead for at least one more season.
