Kate Middleton's maternity leave is officially over after the birth of Princess Charlotte...

Duchess Kate’s maternity leave is officially over and, like most women who have been out of the office for a while, the Duchess of Cambridge revamped her look for her first day back on the job.

The 32-year-old has only gone and had a fringe cut – i.e. dared to change the perfection that is her iconic bouncy blowdry.

HRH’s new fringe was spotted at the weekend as she and Prince William attended a service at Balmoral church on Sunday.

Pandemonium swiftly ensued as everyone scrambled to imitate the Duchess. Holly Willoughby even went for the chop live on This Morning!

Kate officially revealed her new look today with an appearance at the Anna Freud Centre in London and wore one of her trusty coat dresses.

While the mum-of-two usually shies away from bold patterns, today Kate opted for a positively 80s knee-length Ralph Lauren dress in hound’s-tooth print accessorized with a thin black waist belt and simple black pumps.

Her new ‘do was perfectly coiffed and she beamed as she was greeted by staff at the child mental health charity in Finchley Road.

Of course this isn’t the first time Kate has rocked a fringe. Back in 2012, the new Duchess went for a similar chop leading many to speculate she was pregnant – it may seem illogical but turns out that she was expecting Prince George!

Today is Kate’s first official solo event since the birth of Princess Charlotte in May. We saw the Duchess with her family at the Princess’ christening in July, where we all cooed over how flippin’ adorable George is.

Kate and William are due to make their next official appearance together at the world premiere of the new James Bond film Spectre on Monday 26th October. Let’s start taking bets for which designer the Duchess will choose on the night…
