Dakota Fanning dazzles in sizzling scarlet gown

Fashion favourite Dakota Fanning was on top form the the AFI Life Achievement Awards in Los Angeles yesterday

Hollywood's finest may have been out in force at the AFI Life Achievement Awards in Los Angeles last night, but it was fashion favourite Dakota Fanning who really stole the show, stepping out in a sizzling scarlet dress.

Standing out for all the right reasons, the Twilight beauty struck a pose in the flowing red Gucci gown, teamed with towering heels and a chic black clutch, also form the design house, plus a handful of Cartier bracelets.

Dakota rubbed shoulders with a host of Hollywood stars at the ceremony at the Sony Pictures Studios, held to honour Shirley MacLaine.

Also in attendance was Jennifer Aniston, who arrived in a sweeping white dress, without new beau Justin Theroux in tow, Julia Roberts, Meryl Streep, Katherine Heigl and Mena Suvari.

Downton Abbey actress Elizabeth McGovern, who has been hard at work filming Downton Abbey Series 3, also hit the red carpet, in a beautiful white lace dress.
