The Oscar-nominee opens up on the secret to a lasting Hollywood marriage, calling wife Livia 'the most beautiful woman in the world'
He's dashingly handsome, nominated for an Oscar, and has a slew of Best Actor awards already under his belt - but now Colin Firth has given wife Livia Giuggoli even more reason to believe he's the perfect husband...
The King's Speech star opened up to Piers Morgan on the secrets to a lasting Hollywood marriage, revealing that he'd never be unfaithful to his wife - and why he finds it 'easy' not to cheat.
Upon being asked by Piers as to how he avoids 'the shallow pitfalls of temptation,' the actor replied:
'It does actually help to realise that however stunning the person who is, you know, fluttering their eyelashes at you, she doesn't do anything to match up to your wife.'
'Maybe it's shallow of me, to have a wife that's so beautiful,' he added. 'But it makes things easier.'
'She's the most beautiful woman in the world.'
Colin and Livia met on the set of Nostromo in Columbia back in 1995 - where she was a production assistant - and wed in Tuscany two years later.
'We've made it 15 years together, I think that's pretty good going by Hollywood standards,' he said. 'And it's going to go on forever.'
Appearing on Piers' new US chat show, Piers Morgan Tonight, the 50-year-old Brit actor added that the real secret to a happy marriage is simply spending time together - despite their hectic working lives.
'We are crazy about each other,' he continued. 'But the real secret is time - we have to make sure that we spend enough time together.'
'Every relationship in life you're going to have to take care of.'
Livia is one lucky, lucky woman...
