Mariah Carey and Lady Gaga lead celebrity Twitter tributes to Whitney Houston on the one year anniversary of her death
Mariah Carey and Lady Gaga have led celebrity tributes to Whitney Houston on the one year anniversary of her death.
Just hours before she was due to perform at Clive Davis’s annual pre-Grammys party last year, Whitney Houston was found dead in the bathtub of her Beverly Hills hotel after a drugs binge.
Today the music industry has been paying its repects to one of its biggest icons, with the likes of Mariah Carey and Nicole Scherzinger taking to Twitter to express their sadness.
Mariah wrote: ‘It’s 2/11..remembering my friend the incredible Whitney Houston. It’s been a year & still so hard to believe. Her legend lives on eternally.’
Lady GaGa also told fans: ‘A year since Whitney. Marilyn, Judy, Sylvia: tell em’ how you feel girls. otherwise no one will.’
Meanwhile, American singer Ray J, who was dating Houston at the time of her death, said: ‘1 year ago I lost my heart. I would give anything just to see you smile again. I love u so much and I miss you even more today. RiP- Nippy.’
Former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger posted an old picture of Houston on her Instagram and Twitter page alongside an image of herself channelling the star.
‘Today marks the day, it’s been a year. I will always love you Whitney..’ she added.
