The blonde beauty braved plummeting temperatures to strike a pose on the red carpet

British beauty Carey Mulligan turned scarlet lady last night, braving plummeting temperatures to hit the prestigious Film Critics’ Circle Awards in London.

And just check out that gorgeous gown!

CAREY MULLIGAN: STYLE EVOLUTION

The starlet took to the red carpet at the capital’s BFI theatre with Shame co-star Michael Fassbender in tow, ignoring the biting winds to cosy up to the smart star for the cameras.

Her ensemble of choice? A cap-sleeved scarlet Roland Mouret dress adorned with pretty white tulips, and a pair of electric blue YSL platform heels.

Carey and Michael were nominated for Best British Actress and Actor at the awards for their much-talked-about latest movie, while the film itself bagged a nomination for Best British Film of the Year.

MUST-SEE MOVIES 2012

The picture-perfect pair were joined on the awards event by a host of other stars, including War Horse actor Jeremy Irving, and My Week With Marilyn’s Kenneth Branagh.
