Beyonce’s cover of Back To Black can now be heard on The Great Gatsby trailer
Beyonce has unintentionally managed to overshadow The Great Gatsby stars as all eyes, and ears, are on her vocal appearance on the film’s latest trailer. Earlier this week the singer was rumoured to be covering Amy Winehouse’s Back To Black for the screen adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic novel and those reports have now rung true.
The latest The Great Gatsby trailer has been unveiled where Beyonce can be heard singing the track. She recorded the number along with Outkast’s Andre 3000 that appears to be a more soulful and somewhat softer version that the original.
With Jay-Z at the helm of the film’s soundtrack it comes as no surprise, even during this short snippet, that the score is set to be sensational after all Florence and the Machine, Lana Del Rey and Jack White have all worked on the project.
Speaking of his involvement in the film Jay-Z recently said: ‘It’s ripe for experimentation and ready to be interpreted with a modern twist. The imagination Baz [director Baz Luhrmann] brought to Moulin Rouge made it a masterpiece, and the Romeo + Juliet score wasn’t just in the background – the music became a character.
‘This film’s vision and direction has all the makings of an epic experience.’
And with Beyonce on the soundtrack it’s certainly going to be that!
