Beyonce Knowles and hubby Jay Z are planning to install a huge 2,200 square foot nursery in their New York apartment ahead of their baby’s arrival in February, according to reports.

We were expecting some extravagant baby purchases to be made from America's highest earning celebrity couple, but to hear that Beyonce and Jay Z will be building a baby nursery bigger than our house - we were shocked.

The not-so-small 2,200 square foot room for their little one will be made into a gigantic baby bedroom within their TriBeCa home.

We can’t even imagine how big that makes their actual apartment.

A source told US Weekly magazine that their home, ‘will have a nursery that is 2,200 square feet.’

But some of Beyonce's friends are not too keen about the mega 'crib' for the new arrival to play in. 'Some people are like, "Won't you be scared to leave your baby in that huge room?,"' an insider told the magazine.

But despite the skepticism from friends the 30-year-old singer has no concerns and has revealed her pregnancy is ‘going really well’.

The Destiny’s Child star said, ‘It's going really well, I am so happy with everything right now.’

Ms Knowles added, ‘I am not nervous because I know it's happening at the right time. I felt I got married at the right time for me, and now we are having the baby at the right time. I feel like we didn't rush anything, and now we are being blessed with everything naturally.’

Bey and Jay Z are said to already know the sex of the child but in true celebrity fashion, they are keeping the information to themselves.

We've heard reports though that a close friend has ordered mini pink Christian Louboutins. If it's a girl with a bedroom that size, just imagine how big her wardrobe is going to be...
