Angelina Jolie was wearing a gold band on her wedding finger on her recent trip to East Africa
Angelina Jolie visited the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda this week to raise awareness about sexual violence in war zones, and while she was there it was noted that her engagement ring had been swapped for a gold band, sparking rumours she and Brad Pitt had already got married.
The actress, who landed safely back in LA yesterday, set matters straight as she touched down at LAX airport.
When asked by a TMZ reporter if the gold band she was sporting meant she and Brad Pitt were now husband and wife she replied with a firm ‘no.’
The UN ambassador most likely removed her $250,000 engagement ring out of respect for the people she met on her humanitarian visit. And so it didn’t get lost or stolen.
Angelina joined British Foreign Secretary William Hague in Africa to speak to survivors of sexual violence and to meet political leaders.
The pair want to raise awareness of the rape problem on an international level and spur governments on to action.
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt got engaged last April, but are yet to reveal a date for their wedding.
