The Obamas just celebrated their anniversary in the CUTEST way

Barack and Michelle Obama have been giving us #couplegoals for years. Remember when Prince Louis was born and they sent him the most hilarious message? Or when Michelle revealed that she had ditched the shops and actually made Obama's Valentine's Day gift?

Oh, and what about the time when the Obamas dancing to Beyoncé made headlines (take a look - we promise it will chisel away at even the stoniest of hearts).

So it's fair to say that when it comes to being romantic and sweet in public, they've got it down.

And the former POTUS proved that true love really does exist with a simple message for his wife to celebrate their 26th wedding anniversary.

Posting a photo of Michelle looking out of an airplane window, Barack wrote: "Happy Anniversary, @MichelleObama.

"For 26 years, you’ve been an extraordinary partner, someone who can always make me laugh, and my favorite person to see the world with."

And if you thought that was cute enough, guess what? There's more.

Michelle hopped on Twitter to respond to her husband with an equally sweet message, and we're done.

She wrote: "Thank you @barackobama for 26+ years of love, trust, and respect - for being a man who always lifts up and honors me and our wonderful girls.

"Each day I’m with you, I’m reminded of what a treasure you truly are to us all."

This is almost as cute as the wedding throwback snap that Michelle shared earlier this year, showing herself and Barack on their big day.

"You can’t tell it from this photo, but Barack woke up on our wedding day in October, 1992 with a nasty head cold," she wrote.

"Somehow, by the time I met him at the altar, it had miraculously disappeared and we ended up dancing almost all night.

"Twenty five years later, we’re still having fun, while also doing the hard work to build our partnership and support each other as individuals. I can’t imagine going on this wild ride with anybody else."
