There's nothing worse than trying on your favourite outfit only to find the waistband digging in! If you've overindulged this summer, find out how to beat the bloat, here...
Best ways to beat the bloat

Eat slowly
The first rule of beating the bloat is to eat slowly. Not chewing properly prevents us from metabolising food. The result? Stockpiling, especially around the waist. Oh and many experts swear by a carb curfew. Say 'no' to the bread basket after 6pm!

Exercise
Make sure you do a targeted physical activity each day. This doesn't have to mean slogging out in the gym - try a relaxing Yoga or Pilates class, or something fun like Zumba.

Stimulate your digestion
Looking after your digestive system is a key part of battling the bulge. Sip a cup of zingy verbena tea to help food on its way. After all, there's every chance that if you're having a lazy day, your digestic track is too.

Facilitate the intestinal transit
Treat yourself to some bloat-busting probiotics - they're just the thing. There's plenty of really tasty options available now so you've got no excuses not to jump aboard this health trend.

Avoid mustard
This not-so-saintly seed inflames the mucous membranes, which in turn lead to stomach bloating. Stay clear of mustard and stick to other condiments instead, try low sugar options like vinegar to really decrease bloating.

Avoid chewing gum
Avoid indulging in chewing gum at all costs, even if it's sugar-free. Instead, pop a packet of mints in your handbag. When you chew gum you're swallowing excess air into your stomach which leads to bloating.

Avoid fizzy drinks
They're the stomach's worst enemy as you're digesting excess air. Instead sip water regularly or try herbal tea, peppermint's a God send for anything digestion related (even a hangover).

Aim for good emotional management
This is because stress bloats. We're serious. Allow plenty of 'you' time and learn what your triggers are. Compile a list of everything that calms you, from your favourite boxsets to amazing smelling bubble baths, so you can battle the stress when it hits.
