Shop the must-have designer items as seen at Paris Fashion Week
And where to buy them right now
And where to buy them right now
By now, you know that if you're looking for that one designer item that's worth investing in, you shouldn't look to the catwalk, but to the street (see the 5 It bags everyone was wearing in Milan, the London street style hits and the boots all the influencers were wearing in New York).
Now it's Paris Fashion Week, so we took to the cobbles of the French capital to see what les filles Parisiennes were wearing, in the hope it'll make us look chic overnight. Once you're all clued up, jump over to our Black Friday clothing deals and Black Friday designer deals galleries for more inspiration - and maybe a couple of new purchases.
The colourful statement coat
Whether it was a pink biker jacket, a yellow duster or acid green trench, there were so many colourful coats adding a pop of colour to the grey streets of Paris. They were worn with simple jeans and trainers, or with variations of the same hues for bolder looks. My favourite was this look below, which you can recreate with the wool-felt Valentino coat.
Shop now: VALENTINO Single-breasted wool-felt coat for £2,840 from MATCHESFASHION.COM
The Chanel handbag
Well, this is Paris after all, it's a pre-requisite! Now if you're into your classics, you'll know the Chanel 2.55 is one of the best investments you can make, and while there were plenty of those on the Parisian streets during fashion week, there were also some more current Autumn/Winter styles, like this silver flap bag, which you can shop below.
Shop now: Metallic flap bag for £2,710 from Chanel

The Céline pumps
In Paris, you're on Céline's home turf, so it would be a crime not to pay homage to the brand. As stunning as stilettos look in those street style snaps (especially those Balenciaga boots), we know they're not exactly ideal for walking on cobbles. Which is why these classic heeled ballerina pumps are your PFW wardrobe saviour.

Penny Goldstone is the Digital Fashion Editor at Marie Claire, covering everything from catwalk trends to royal fashion and the latest high street and Instagram must-haves.
Penny grew up in France and studied languages and law at the Sorbonne Nouvelle University in Paris before moving to the UK for her MA in multimedia journalism at Bournemouth University. She moved to the UK permanently and has never looked back (though she does go back regularly to stock up on cheese and wine).
Although she's always loved fashion - she used to create scrapbooks of her favourite trends and looks, including Sienna Miller and Kate Moss' boho phase - her first job was at MoneySavingExpert.com, sourcing the best deals for everything from restaurants to designer sales.
However she quit after two years to follow her true passion, fashion journalism, and after many years of internships and freelance stints at magazines including Red, Cosmopolitan, Stylist and Good Housekeeping, landed her dream job as the Digital Fashion Editor at Marie Claire UK.
Her favourite part of the job is discovering new brands and meeting designers, and travelling the world to attend events and fashion shows. Seeing her first Chanel runway IRL at Paris Fashion Week was a true pinch-me moment.
