The Fab Four has been victim to the rumour mill this year, with a lot of speculation rising around a royal feud between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

It seems that this wasn't limited to Meghan Markle's birthday, with the Duchess of Sussex's 38th this weekend causing a lot of controversy.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge came under fire in the comment section of their Instagram account, criticised for their birthday message to Meghan after it was deemed a bit too formal.

Meghan and Kate have seemingly been making a big effort to show a united front and to put rumours of a royal feud to bed, but the Duchess of Sussex’s birthday caused controversy once more as it was suggested in its run-up that Kate Middleton wouldn’t be invited to the festivities.

Yes, speaking to The Sun, a source explained: ’It is unlikely that the Cambridges will be invited to Meghan's 38th birthday on Sunday.’

This predictably re-started rumours of a rivalry, but fans have been quick to point out that this is a huge overreaction, with the Duchess probably wanting to keep her birthday low key, potentially with just Prince Harry, their son Archie and her mother, Doria Ragland.

We’re sure Meghan has a lovely gift from the Cambridge family coming her way though!
