News of Instagram updates never really goes down well with users of the app - we tend to be habitual animals and we really don’t like change.
There was the time Instagram controversially changed its logo, the algorithm change that affected who saw our posts and of course the introduction of the Instagram block tool.
Plus don’t even get us started on the threat that our profiles were being changed to a 4x4 photo grid, prompting outrage from those of us who had invested years carefully collating our feeds in the three-across format.
While that trial was thankfully a false alarm, there is a new Instagram update to be aware of - and the internet is not happy.
One of the beauties of social media is being able to stalk ex boyfriends and old friends, sending the information you find to your close circle of pals to dissect. The other beauty of social media however is not getting caught - and that might be about to change.
According to reports, people will now receive notifications when you take a screenshot of their Insta stories. Yes, really - be aware.

And seeing as taking a screenshot requires holding down two buttons at the same time, it will be hard to pass it off as a mistake if you get caught.
We’re already feeling embarrassed about what's going to happen.
