The Brazilian supermodel rocked an ultra-glam red-carpet look -- but this isn't just your average party dress.

Gisele Bundchen looked stunning on the red carpet Wednesday night. But then again, Gisele always looks stunning.

So what made this particular red-carpet turn so different?

The supermodel, 33, attended the Rainforest Alliance Gala in New York City dressed in a glamorous ballgown with a fitted bodice and a flowing skirt. She later took to Instagram to reveal that the luxe-looking dress was actually an eco-friendly creation.

'Ready to Rainforest Alliance annual gala ceremony. The event recognize the industry champions who have the sustainability as a priority,' she posted. 'Thank you #JeffGarner for the beautiful handmade eco dress. #plantdyed #hempsilkblend #RAGreenGala.'

In the past, you may have thought that an eco-friendly outfit would involve neutral colours and rough fabrics and would be anything but glamorous. But Gisele's latest look proves that you can actually look elegant and polished in a sustainable dress.

The eco-friendly fashion trend has certainly taken off over the past few years. Several designers are creating sustainable designs, from T-shirts to wedding dresses. And even H&M has jumped onboard, unveiling their lovely Conscious Collection.
