The iconic child star has passed away
Shirley Temple, the legendary Hollywood actress, has died near her home in San Francisco. She was 85 years old.
‘We salute her for a life of remarkable achievements as an actor, as a diplomat, and most importantly as our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and adored wife of 55 years,’ her family said in a statement.
The American icon made her first film at just 4 years old and quickly gained fame as the curly-haired cutie of the 1930s. Known for films such as Bright Eyes, Heidi and The Little Princess, Temple retired from acting at age 21 and began a career in politics.
