Velvet, copper, sequins and the world's most glamorous maternity wear... see what celebrities wore to the Oscars after-parties (including one dress you can actually buy now)
The A-list was out in full force for the 2017 Oscars red carpet, with Emma Stone, Brie Larson and Meryl Streep all stealing the show.
Emma, Nicole Kidman, Dakota Johnson and Charlize Theron all dazzled in gold, while Brie, Alicia Vikander and Salma Hayek kept things classic in black dresses.
But of course the party wasn’t over when the Oscars ceremony finished. And obviously, with this being the biggest film awards gig of the year, one outfit simply wouldn’t do. Oscar nominees and attendees changed into brand new outfits for the Oscars after party, opting for more fun and fashion-forward designs (or in the case of Diane Kruger and Emma Stone’s short dresses, outfits they could actually party in).
Celebrities who weren’t invited to sit in the Dolby Theatre weren’t to be outshone either, with Thandie Newton, Sofia Vergara and Elizabeth Banks getting their best sparkle on. Beautiful Rosie Huntington-Whiteley showed her growing baby bump in floor-length silver, Caitlyn Jenner teamed up with model Andreja Pejic to walk the red carpet together and everyone’s favourite A-list couple Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux showed up in monochrome.
Our favourite look of the night? It’s a close call between Jessica Biel’s copper and cream caped ensemble and Hailey Steinfeld’s sparkly column dress (because we do love a glittery train).
Check out some of our favourite pictures from the night below…
We love the off-the-shoulder detail of Amelia’s red Rosetta Getty dress. Unlike a lot of dresses on the Oscars red carpet that are custom made for the wearer, this one’s actually available from Net-a-Porter right NOW. Go go go!
Perry’s copper dress is made for shimmying around a dancefloor (which we imagine she did quite a lot of)
The pregnant model and actress looked gorgeous in this long silver creation
The model and reality star, wearing dresses that complemented each other, teamed up to pose for the cameras
Possibly our favourite look of the night? This one part red carpet dress, two parts super-hero look from Ralph Lauren Collection
Black tie what?
Seriously though, we can’t work out whether we love or hate this look… maybe better without the beanie?
We love this colour on her – stylish as ever
Just another pic as the back is so pretty…
The VS model looking HAWT in red satin
For her second look of the night Adams opted for floor-length silver

Munn generally never puts a foot wrong – this high-neck red dress is no exception
The Westworld star went for head-to-toe glitz
We love Liberty’s silver tux – plus it’s much easier to party in than a dress
While most of the party went long, Kruger opted for something (very) short
Looking v. elegant in gold Elie Saab
Classic black tux from Don Draper
Peet wore a silver Michael Kors Collection dress
Steinfeld giving her train a quick swish for the cameras
One more from the front…
The brilliant Sia in a cool orange suit (again saving on the hassle of booking a make-up artist)
Looking every inch the old Hollywood movie star in black
If in doubt… wear black
Looking elegant a white long-sleeved dress
Jazzing up proceedings in fuchsia
Vergara bringing sexy back to the red carpet (as per)
Opting for a cool sporty neckline with this oil slick black dress

The couple went for a classic black tie and red dress combo
One of our favourite comedy couples looked pretty high on life
Lovato wearing (literally all) the ruffles in Hollywood with this lilac number
Scarlett goes for a shoulder drape with this LBD (that’s Long Black Dress – keep up!)
Proving exactly why she’s a VS supermodel in this cut-out shimmery frock
Mara generally always sticks to either black or white – if it ain’t broke…
Jones opted for a classic midnight blue gown
Alba opts for a very pretty and tan-flattering powder blue
This looks comfy
Though to be fair she’d look good in a binbag
Last year’s Oscar winner Brie swapped into bottle green for the after-party
When in doubt, go for a J. Mendel princess dress…
Carrying a Tyler Ellis clutch.
