'Mark, I am publicly asking you for help…'
We do not know how you manage to land yourself in 53 million dollars of personal debt, but if anyone can do it, Kanye West is the probably the man. He seems a person who does not do things by halves.
Over the weekend, West took a break from having a go at people via Twitter (Taylor Swift being the most recent target) and used the social media platform to confess that he is currently having some financial issues, and would appreciate the help of one Mark Zuckerberg to fund his ideas, as he does not have ‘enough resources’ to do so himself.
West began by making his money problems public:
He then reached out to Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, directly asking him for the sum of ONE BILLION DOLLARS.
West proceeded to acknowledge that it was Zuckerberg’s birthday, so perhaps the timing of his request was not on point (but notably, failed to send MZ his best birthday wishes)
Faced with no response, West then urges his fans to put pressure on Zuckerberg to cough up some cash – It’s estimated Mark Zuckerberg is worth $44.6bn and has made a number of large gifts in recent years – West it seems, is determined to get a look in…
The barrage of Tweets on this theme continued…
‘I don’t have enough resources to create what I really can…’ wrote Kanye – emploring the billionarie to hand over some money. And then, in case any more clarification was needed West explicitly stated: ‘Mark, I am publicly asking you for help…’, ‘one of the coolest things you could ever do is to help me in my time of need’.
Things then took a turn and West suggested the people working at tech companies should give him money, rather than funding the opening of schools in Africa.
We’re guessing Zuckerberg didn’t pick up the phone to discuss this proposed donation.
