Floral prints and English country garden shades were the order of the day at the Nicole Farhi spring/summer 2012 show

Floral prints and English country garden shades were the order of the day at the Nicole Farhi spring/summer 2012 show
If Nicole Farhi’s latest collection is anything to go by, spring/summer 2012 is going to be a colourful one.
Looking to flowers and gardens as her inspiration, the French-born London-based designer’s latest offering was a kaleidoscope of bouquet hues – think buttercup yellow, pansy pink, iris blue, moss green and orchid white. Fitting then, that the show was presented in the Royal Horticultural Society.
As well as colour, there was tons of texture too, with glossy mesh tops, floral appliqué embellished knits, laser-cut leather flower dresses, sparkling sequins all featuring heavily and, of course, English country garden floral prints on everything from jackets to trousers.
The tulip-shaped dresses, sporty tees, belted jackets and colour-block separates all had the crowd oohing and aahing too, as did the trench-coat-style frocks, asymmetric numbers and fab wedge heels.
Our verdict? It was blooming lovely.
