Rihanna's diverse Savage x Fenty fashion show is what the world deserves right now

Does Rihanna ever take a minute for herself? We literally can’t keep up with everything she’s doing to break the internet and she’s done it again as her recent Savage x Fenty fashion show is gaining press for all the right reasons. Riri unveiled her new Autumn/Winter collection for 2018 at New York Fashion Week (as you do) and it was a gorgeous sensory experience, which championed body and racial diversity in an unforgettable showcase.
Set in a faux oasis, it was a far cry from the traditional model stomp seen elsewhere throughout the season. Women of all shapes and sizes were dressed in her new sensual collection and the entire show felt more like a performance, as they danced to a bass-thumping soundtrack filled with moments of spoken word and laughter.
While we naturally had the Hadid sisters strutting around in lace, tulle and glittery bodychains, we also saw plus-sized models busting a move on the grassy catwalk.
One particularly powerful moment was when pregnant model Slick Woods stepped out in nothing but a cut out strappy bodysuit and nipple pasties which showed off her bump in its full glory. Another pregnant model also joined her on the runway in a plunging nude one piece, swaying to the music.
After the models all lined up at the end side-by-side, holding one another’s hands in a moment of solidarity, RiRi obviously made a dramatic entrance. As she walked out with a sheer brown scarf tied around her head, she untied it to reveal her snatched visage and a pair of narrow 90s sunglasses (a style which featured prominently throughout the show) as she made the rounds in a Savage-approved sheer dress.
The show was live-streamed on YouTube and of course, it blew up. In fact, it's still featured as one of the top ten trending videos in the UK and you can watch the fifteen minute show below.
