So you can basically buy Carrie Bradshaw's wedding dress*

*only a slight exaggeration

Playing Carrie Bradshaw for the best part of a decade comes with its responsibilities. As a fashion icon, Sarah Jessica Parker sort of had to emulate her character IRL by creating things like kick-ass shoe collections. So we don't blame her at all for graduating into wedding dresses. In fact, we encourage it.

The actor has just launched her debut bridal line, three years after launching her first wedding shoe range. The collection, in collaboration with online store Gilt, feature 10 gowns, paired with 15 shoe styles, all catered to the modern bride.

So rather than traditional gowns, SJP focused on outfits the bride could wear around her wedding day, for her rehearsal dinner or hen do for example.

A while back, she told WWD, 'I think there’s a lot about these that are conventional silhouettes. I’ve got no business designing wedding dresses, I think that would be fraudulent, and diminishing the people who have been doing it for a really long time. That’s serious business. People work years and years and years to build those businesses, and really have to understand draping, foundations. That’s a massive undertaking. I’m not a designer and I don’t have those skills, but I have ideas and dreams. I knew I wanted something that felt modern and felt [like] there was life in it beyond that day.'

The result? Chic separates such as a lace skirt you can wear over jeans, as well as elevated basics like a jumpsuit and slip dress adorned with feathers.

There's also a little something for the really non-traditional brides as SJP has options in blush, red and black. The shoes naturally don't disappoint, with everything from white satin pumps to sparkle flats on offer.
