Australian actress Mia Wasikowska is the new face of the Italian label

Fashion label Miu Miu has a stylish new muse: Alice in Wonderland actress Mia Wasikowska.

The Australian star has been named as the face of Miu Miu’s spring/summer 2012 ads – her first major fashion campaign – and will replace teen actress Hailee Steinfeld as the brand’s poster girl.

Pictures leaked on the web, which were taken in London in December last year, show the almost unrecognisable actress in two neon bright shots wearing pieces from the spring/summer 2012 collection, as well as jewellery and handbags.

For beauty, her make-up is creamy and pale with a flick of black eyeliner and a flash of red lipstick, while her hair is styled up with flower corsages pinned in.

Mia shot to fame when she was cast in the lead role in Tim Burton’s 2010 film, Alice In Wonderland, and has since gone on to garner critical acclaim for parts in the likes of The Kids Are All Right opposite Annette Bening and Julianne Moore, and Jane Eyre alongside man-of-the-moment Michael Fassbender.
