Kate Moss blows US crowds away at opening of New York Topshop

You have to hand it to her – she knows how to whip the crowds into a frenzy. Kate Moss caused a sensation yesterday as she joined Sir Philip Green in opening the new flagship Topshop store in NY.

She held hands with Sir Philip as the pair stood up on a podium with confetti showering over them – and Kate totally stole the limelight in a jaw-droppingly gorgeous, full-length turquoise dress, which will retail in-store for £60.

The supermodel - who has spent the last few days promoting the launch, including hosting a star-studded party - teamed her asymmetric number, which featured a revealing thigh-high split, with a funky leather jacket and dazzling diamond jewellery.

The Big Apple branch has 200 workers, 32 changing rooms, a DJ booth and a shoe lounge, but has opened six months late after a series of problems, including construction delays and even flooding.

Speaking at the launch, Sir Philip said: ‘I think we have something to bring to the market place in terms of great products.

'We are going to be very fashion-led here. We hang a $500 dress 30ft away from two-for-$18 T-shirts. It's different.

'Some things we will get right, some we will get wrong, but we need to understand the model. I would like to think we could have 12 to 15 flagship stores.

'I would like this to be the platform for the next stage of our development.'

We reckon it'll be a sure-fire winner with savvy American shoppers.
