  • Giambattista Valli talks about the pride he felt in dressing the actress for her wedding to Justin Timberlake

Earlier this week we brought you the first pictures of Jessica Biel in her pink Giambattista Valli wedding gown, and now the Italian designer has spoken out about his pride in dressing the star on her big day.

Valli said in a statement: ‘When Jessica asked me to design her wedding dress, I was all the more excited. We have been friends for a long time and have followed and supported each other’s work though all these years.’
He added: ‘She has always been a fabulous interpreter of my creations and I was very pleased when she came to me to help her for her nuptials to Justin. And I could not be more proud that she walked down the aisle in Italy, my own country, wearing Giambattista Valli!’

The actress wore a custom-made pale pink couture bridal gown to marry singer Justin Timberlake in Italy last weekend. The strapless silk mousseline and organza dress featured a light rose pink hued floral motif and heaps of pretty ruffles, which the star wore with a pearl embellished veil.

What’s more, all the women in the wedding party, including the mothers of the bride and groom, as well as the bridesmaids, wore Giambattista Valli Haute Couture gowns to the ceremony in Puglia. Once the happy couple had swapped vows, Jessica changed into a less formal strapless dress, also by Giambattista Valli, to celebrate with her guests at the reception.
