So you’ve read the definitive Spring/Summer 16 trend report and have added your faves to your wardrobe radar, but how exactly should you be wearing this season’s big hitters? The A-list as always have been the first to snap up the key catwalk pieces so we’re looking at them for a serious hit of new season styling inspo. Whether you go for the 90s like Alexa or fabulously eccentric via Rihanna and Gucci – here’s how to wear SS16’s trends, the A-list way…

Solange No new season wardrobe is complete without an off-the-shoulder top. Opt for a white version a la Solange which can take you from the office to the cocktail party and even the beach-side bar. Team with a pair of wide-leg culottes for catwalk-approved proportions and extra style credentials.

Kendall Jenner One of the surprise hits of the SS16 catwalks was a two-piece tracksuit. But this time, as demonstrated by Kendall in the catwalk Chloe number, it’s about two-tone, unbranded styles worn with heels and a statement designer bag.

Alexa Chung If you buy into just one trend this season, make it the catwalk-approved ruffle. For weddings and summer occasion, opt for a head-to-toe frilly dress, or for an everyday take on the rend, look to Alexa in her Marks & Spencer blouse and pair of skinnies. We love.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Most designers – ranging from Dolce & Gabanna to Jonathan Saunders - showed some sort of stripe on their catwalk this season. But the most fresh and new take on the trend was seen in sporty collections, often with a matching jacket and top. Take your cue from Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and team a pair of sporting stripe pants with a blazer and pair of heels for a an instant wardrobe refresh.

Kim Kardashian From the catwalk to the red carpet, the slip dress is the new A-list fave. And trust Kim Kardashian to put her unique spin on the trend. Channeling the 90s to full extent, Kimmy’s teamed her slip with a sporty track top and heels. Take your cue form Kim or mix it up with a denim jacket and slip-on sneakers.

Kiernan Shipka SS16’s romance trend was perfectly played out in misty organzas and foamy chiffon on the catwalk and make for a dreamy occasionwear and hot summer evening option. In her straight-from-the-Dior-catwalk dress, Kiernan adds a cool-girl edge with metallic brogues and statement, girly shades. We love.

Jennifer Lawrence We always find it hard to resist the appeal of a metallic skirt- and this season, there’s more excises to wear one than ever before hanks to the likes of Proenza Schouler and Altuzarra. The key here is to dress-down the shimmer by teaming with an understated black top a la miss Lawrence.

Jessica Biel Fashion’s favourite pattern has been reinvented for SS16 by the likes of Victoria Beckham, Stella McCartney and Celine. Available in easy, breezy silhouettes and everyday dress, gingham makes for the perfect summer-in-the-city option. Just add white trainers for an on-point new season look.

Rihanna Gucci’s fashion eccentric vibe is a tough one to pull off but if you’re going to do it, do it like Rihanna. Go bold and double up on prints, colours and textures. Wallflowers need not apply.
