    So how does he suggest we achieve such beautiful snaps? Put simply, the key is to edit. Speaking exclusively to Marie Claire, Testino explained: ‘Since I have been on Instagram one is bombarded by images and it forces you to really assess what is good and what is not. My tips would be to edit and really look and question what is a good picture or not.

    I love Instagram, it’s almost like my own magazine, in a way. It’s great too to have that immediate engagement with people – the world is moving at such a fast pace and I can take a picture and post it immediately and get instant feedback. I have seen many developments in the industry, from the days when we photographed on film not knowing what the picture would be like until we got the contact sheet back from the lab a week later.’

    ‘I would pick just one, because at the moment I love seeing what is posted to the National Geographic’s stream. Such incredible pictures, so fascinating and enlightening. They show the beauty of the world and it’s so inspiring to see.’
