Many cited her as the inspiration for Saint Laurent's autumn/winter 2013 collection, and now grunge princess Courtney Love has been unveiled as the latest star of the label's new campaign.
The Hole frontwoman was photographed by Saint Laurent's creative director, Hedi Slimane, in her New York townhouse earlier this year for the new 'Music Project' ads. In one image, Courtney lies on a wooden floor wearing a black and white fur coat from the menswear line teamed with a bejewelled tiara and her signature smudgy eye make-up, while in another, she sits by a fireplace holding an electric guitar dressed in a classic pinstripe suit and a cream ruffle blouse.
Other American music stars who appear in the '90s grunge-inspired campaign, all shot by Hedi, include Californian rock artist Ariel Pink, former Sonic Youth guitarist Kim Gordon and shock rocker Marilyn Manson, the latter of which we brought you a sneak peek yesterday.

The new ads continue a long tradition of Saint Laurent and rock 'n' roll that dates back to 1971 when the fashion house dressed Mick and Bianca Jagger for their iconic St Tropez wedding. Since his appointment at the helm of the label a year ago, Hedi has snapped up Beck to front the spring/summer 2013 menswear ads, rising music star Sky Ferreira for the pre-autumn/winter 2013 lookbook and Christopher Owens as the face of the brand relaunch.
The Saint Laurent Music Project is an ongoing portraiture campaign of rock stars styling themselves in the label's clothes, as well as the commissioning of original music for the catwalk shows, which has so far featured tracks by the likes of Daft Punk and Ty Segall.
