The shock rocker is the unexpected star of the luxury label's menswear ads
Marilyn Manson has been unveiled as the surprise star of Saint Laurent's latest ad campaign.
The shock rocker, real name Brian Hugh Warner, appears in the luxury label's new menswear adverts wearing a black shirt and a classic leather biker jacket as he stares moodily at the camera with his signature bleached eyebrows, kohl eyeliner and dark lipstick.
The musician was chosen to front the campaign by the brand's creative director, Hedi Slimane, who shot the pictures himself. Saint Laurent confirmed the hook-up today and said that the official campaign images will be released tomorrow starring a whole host of other famous musicians – both male and female.
But we were given this first glimpse by stylist and Mugler creative director Nicola Formichetti, who posted the image onto his Instagram account with the caption: 'Amazing'.
Manson is not the first music star that Slimane has snapped up to front Saint Laurent campaigns since his appointment at the helm of the label a year ago. Previous ad models include Beck, who fronted the spring/summer 2013 menswear ads, and newcomer Sky Ferreira, who appeared in the pre-autumn/winter 2013 lookbook.
