  • Marie Claire hit the red carpet at the world premiere of Anna Karenina last night and caught up with the beautiful Keira Knightley

Keira Knightley has taken on her most terrifying role to date as the iconic Anna Karenina and, as she walked the red carpet at the world premiere in London, the gorgeous actress took some time to chat to Marie Claire.

Anna Karenina, an adaptation of Leo Tolstoy’s epic story of love, marriage and scandal in Imperial Russia, stars Jude Law and Aaron Johnson, as well as the lovely Keira Knightley.

Directed by Joe Wright, who is somewhat of a Keira mega-fan having previously worked with her on Pride & Prejudice and Atonement, has taken on the classic story and turned it into a lavish and stunning movie.

With the elaborate costumes – inspired by Dior and Balenciaga couture – designed by Jacqueline Durran, the latest adaptation of Anna Karenina is simply breathtaking.

We caught up with the stars of the movie at the film’s world premiere in London’s Leicester Square to talk love, romance and those exquisite costumes.

Keira, who looked stunning in a gorgeous Chanel gown and Rupert Sanderson’s Olwen sandals, spent an age signing autographs and posing with fans before chatting to Marie Claire. See what she had to say in the video below.
