Keira Knightley stars as Anna Karenina in Joe Wright’s version of Tolstoy’s epic love story
The trailer for Anna Karenina has been released, showing Keira Knightley in action as the title character for the first time.
As well as Keira, the trailer features Jude Law, who plays Karenina’s husband Aleksei Karenin, as well as Aaron Johnson, Matthew MacFadyen, Kelly McDonald and Downton Abbey’s Michelle Dockery.
The film adaptation of Tolstoy’s epic love story is set in late-19th-century Russia, where high society girl Karenina finds herself embarking on an affair with Count Vronsky, played by Nowhere Boy star Aaron Johnson.
If the trailer is anything to go by, the movie looks beautiful, dark and stylish. We can’t wait to see it!
Anna Karenina will be released 7 September, 2012.
