The brightest and best in British music donned their finery last night, at a bash to announce this years Brit Awards nominees
The brightest and best in British music donned their finery to attend a pre-Brit Awards bash last night, and now nominations for the prestigious ceremony are finally in. Rapper Tinie Tempah looks set to be this year’s bit winner, along with songstress Cheryl Cole and newcomer, Plan B.
Tinie – who also performed during the nominations night – garnered a whopping four nods, for Best Male, Best Album, Best Single and Best Breakthrough, while Plan B and Ellie Goulding were both listed in two categories.
Mrs C was also nominated for Best Single (although for Parachute, not latest hit Promise This) and will go up against previous X Factor winners Matt Cardle and Alexandra Burke in the category.
Hit group Mumford and Sons look set to win the battle of the bands, after receiving two nominations, while newcomer Jessie J was announced as recipient of the Critics Choice Award.
Noticeably absent was Lady Gaga, who, after winning an amazing three awards at the Brits in 2010, didn’t receive a single nomination this year.
The star-studded Brit Awards ceremony takes place at the O2 on February 15, hosted by comedian James Corden.
