Fifty Shades of Grey may have won over millions of fans, and plenty of celebrities too, but there’s one famous face who it has failed to entice and that’s Tess Daly.
The Strictly Come Dancing host, who is currently penning her second novel, revealed she’s read the book but wasn’t all that enamored by it.

Tess told us: ‘I’ve read Fifty Shades of Grey, like everyone else I enjoyed it, it was escapism but it’s not a book that leaves a lasting impression.’
But, ever the optimist, Tess thinks the ease at which you can read a book such as E.L James’s tome is part of its charm. She added: ‘I enjoyed it for the escapism, it’s the sort of book you could multitask with, it was fun and light-hearted.’
Despite the success of Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey’s love story, Tess won’t go down that route as she completes the sequel to her first novel, The Camera Never Lies.

When asked if she’d consider adding in some more saucy snippets, Tess told us: ‘Every time I think I’ve got a really sexy scene in for the book and I read it again I think my mother-in-law will be reading it and I just can’t imagine her reading that. It’s not route I want to go down.’
