The Fifty Shades of Grey movie has had many hot celebrity names linked to it, but while some sadly deny they would get involved (we're looking at you, Keira Knightley), others reveal they’re keen, the latest of which is James Franco.

When asked at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah if he’d be keen to play Christian Grey in the movie adaptation of the best-selling book, James said: ‘It sounds interesting, I heard Gus [Van Sant] might direct it. If he directed it, I'd do it.'
While visually James is certainly right for the part, he’s also got plenty of experience in sex-focused films having produced Kink, a BDSM documentary, starred as Hugh Hefner in porn star biopic Lovelace and he also directed Interior. Leather Bar., about gay cruising.
Clearly, he’s certainly up to the job, and he’s had some hands-on experience of BDSM props too.
While starring in small-budget movie, About Cherry, in San Francisco, James filmed scenes at porn production company Kink’s headquarters and learnt a few lessons.

He told SheKnows.com: ‘I was fascinated by how they ran the place, how big it was, how intricate the props were and the sets and everything, but also just the dynamics there. Despite making very intense and extreme kinds of videos, the dynamic among all the workers was very warm and very connected.’
