Tess Daly: How does Victoria Beckham do it?

EXCLUSIVE! Tess Daly reveals she’s no idea how Victoria Beckham manages a fashion career and a family

Victoria Beckham has many female admirers and it’s largely because we can’t fault her fashion, but it’s her ability to manage being a working mother that TV presenter Tess Daly is in awe of.

Tess told us: ‘Victoria Beckham has four kids, has a fashion design empire and she’s so busy. I look at her and think "how does she do it?"

‘But then how do I do it? I look at women running companies and they’ve got three kids and think the same thing. It’s the eternal question we all wonder how everyone else manages it.’

Tess credits her husband of 10 years, fellow TV presenter Vernon Kay, for helping their family life run smoothly, and says: ‘The roles aren’t so traditional now, men stay at home too. Myself and my husband share the school run. That’s what modern life demands but we don’t want anyone to do that for us.’

While it all sounds very harmonious, being part of a celebrity couple has its drawbacks, and it’s a battle to keep family life out of the papers. Tess added: ‘It’s not a natural state of being to share your entire life, that’s why I’m not on twitter.

‘I’m sharing so much of my life already. We’re quite private people at home we don’t live our life in the spotlight, I enjoy the glamourous side of life, but I’ve never really trotted my children into the spotlight, it’s our job to protect them.’
