Revealed: the celebs taking to the Strictly Come Dancing floor this year
The celebrity line-up for the next series of Strictly Come Dancing has been revealed.
The new series of the hit BBC One show will see singers Rachel Stevens of S Club fame and Heather Small, lead singer of nineties band M People, take to the floor to shimmy through their sambas and wow us with their waltzes.
The 16-strong line-up includes ex-Eastenders Gillian Taylforth, Jessie Wallace and Phil Daniels, all vying for the much-coveted Strictly winner’s trophy.
Other celebrities signed up to the prime-time Saturday night show include Lisa Snowdon, chef Gary Rhodes and model Jodie Kidd – there’s nothing like a high-profile dance competition to get your career back on track.
The statutory sports figures competing come in the form of Olympic swimmer Mark Foster and rugby player Austin Healey.
The news series kicks off on 20 September with Tess Daley and Bruce Forsyth still in the driving seat as co-presenters. The success of the series means two more competitors have been added to the original line-up and the series will enjoy a longer run.
