Ryan Gosling has given a rare insight into life with Eva Mendes and their 14-month-old daughter, Esmeralda. Talking about his partner of four years, Ryan gushed that he couldn’t be happier, saying ‘I know that I’m with the person I’m supposed to be with.’
After meeting Eva on the set of the 2012 film, The Place Beyond The Pines, the couple have been pretty low profile, with the birth of their daughter Esmeralda Gosling in September 2014 being a surprise to many. But it seems Ryan has taken well to fatherhood, saying in the interview with Hello! Canada this week, that the new job ‘isn’t rocket science.’
While little Esme was barely a few months old last Christmas, Ryan admits that this year is a little different. ‘This will be our first Christmas where Esmeralda is sort of taking it all in, so that’s exciting.’
Continuing to melt herts during the interview, when Ryan was asked for what he looks for in his other half, he replied with just about the best and cutest answer… ‘That she’s Eva Mendes. There’s nothing else I’m looking for.’
Yup. Cue sighs around the world.

It seems Ryan’s career and personal lives are both at all-time highs right now, too. The actor is currently promoting financial crisis film, The Big Short, and hosted Saturday Night Live for the first time this weekend. While some would expect a critically acclaimed actor to take to the stage easily, it seems the cast of SNL were just too talented, with Ryan laughing throughout most of the sketches.
The cast even had to ad-lib his uncontrollable laughter, with Cecily Strong covering his breaks by saying his was crying.
While Ryan had a hard time keeping a straight face, he did pull it together for the show’s finale. After waving goodbye to the audience, Ryan gave a loving goodbye to his family at home, saying ‘Eva and Esme I love you.’
So, yeah. We're probs officially more in love with him now than ever. NBD.
