The Brit comedian could stand to earn a whopping figure from the split, after it was revealed they never signed a prenup
Papers filed on Friday listed ‘property rights to be determined,’ which suggests their assets will have to be split.
Despite being married for just 14 months, it’s thought the Brit comedian could be entitled to half of Katy’s reported £40 million fortune, under Californian law.
‘Really, love between two people is the most spectacular and ordinary thing in the world. I want to make our wedding just about me and her… I ain’t doing no prenup.’
But it seems their relationship wasn’t to be.
‘Sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage,’ the British comedian said in an official statement.
‘I’ll always adore her and I know we’ll remain friends.’
It’s not yet clear why they split, with rumours suggesting everything from her constant partying to his jealousy over her fame as the cause.
