Robert Pattinson and his co-star Taylor Lautner are the kings of fantasy films, but as the Twilight saga comes to a close with the release of Breaking Dawn Part 2, there’s now space for a new heartthrob.
Step forward Downton Abbey star Ed Speleers! The actor, who plays footman Jimmy Kent in the ITV drama, has ventured into a new role in werewolf film Love Bite and we had to ask if he fancied himself as the next RPattz.

Unfortunately he didn’t, saying: ‘Robert is a lovely guy and he’s doing very well in his career but what I’m trying to do is completely different.
‘I just want to go from job to job and keep learning new things. Love Bite and Twilight are two very different films.’
Since starring on the small screen in Downton Abbey, Ed has quickly become a bit of a heartthrob, earning himself a growing fan club on and off the box.

Although when we brought this up he was pretty modest, telling us: ‘If you’re going to get that sort of interest then that’s a nice compliment.
‘If people like me as an actor and, as a byproduct of that people can say nice things it’s wonderful, but it’s much about the work for me.’
And a true professional he is! When we asked Ed about what it was like to work with Gossip Girl star Jessica Szohr in Love Bite he was all praise, saying: ‘Jessica was a lovely girl to work with, and she may have come from a big show but she got straight into filming in Glasgow.’
He may not want to be the next Robert Pattinson but we expect big things from Ed.
Love Bite is in cinemas 9 November
