Anna Kendrick may have won an Oscar for her performance in Up in the Air, but pulling off award-worthy red carpet fashion doesn’t comes as naturally to the former Twilight star.

Ahead of the Oscars 2013 we caught up with Anna about how she masters award season dressing and the biggest red carpet fashion show of them all, the Oscars. Despite regularly hitting style highs, the actress refused to take any of the credit for her wardrobe.

Anna told us: ‘I have a stylist which I think is helpful in a sense that I think I would rest in my comfort zone and wear little black dresses every day.

‘It’s nice to have somebody there to say it’s ok to wear a backless dress that’s long with embellishments - you’re not going to explode.’

While it takes Anna a gentle nudge to brave bolder fashion choices, she’s no qualms in saying who her style icons are.

‘Kate Winslet always looks really cool,’ Anna said, ‘But then I watched Ginger and Rosa starring the lovely Elle Fanning and she is absolutely extraordinary.’
