French actor Jean Dujardin received a hero’s welcome as he jetted into Paris from Los Angeles yesterday, fresh from his spectacular Oscar win.
Clutching his prized golden statue, the Best Actor recipient was mobbed by fans and well wishers as he set foot on home turf, and played up to the crowds, clearly enjoying his moment in the spotlight.
OSCARS 2012: THE WINNERS
The 39-year-old star of hit movie The Artist beat off stiff competition from the likes of George Clooney and Brad Pitt to scoop the prestigious Best Actor prize at the awards on Sunday.
His film went on to bag an further four gongs at the ceremony.
‘I love your country! So many of you here tonight have inspired me,’ he told the A-list crowd in a gushing acceptance speech as he stepped on stage to collect the first of the awards.

Ceremony over, rumour has it the actor partied his way through Oscar night, before giving a handful of interviews and stepping straight on a plane back to Paris.
But despite his lack of sleep, the actor still looked on top form as he arrived in France to an ecstatic welcome.
This year, the actor has notched up a whole host of impressive awards to sit alongside his Oscar, including a Golden Globe, a Bafta and a Screen Actor’s Guild award.
Not bad going…
