The First Lady of the US wore the custom Atelier Versace piece to welcome the Italian Prime Minister, Matteo Renzi, to the White House. FLOTUS is well-known for sporting a number of other high-end designers, such as Vera Wang and Jason Wu, so her choice of Atelier Versace is hardly surprising.

Designer Donatella Versace was utterly delighted to have designed the gorgeous gown for Michelle Obama. 'I am humbled and honoured to have the opportunity to dress the first lady of the United States Michelle Obama.

'Thank you, Michelle, for all of the things you have done for America and the rest of the world, for the women in the United States and the rest of the world' she said in a statement.

One thing is for sure, Michelle Obama will definitely go down in history as one of the most stylish women of all time.
