Prince Harry and Meghan Markle might have only been dating for a year, but there has already been a lot of speculation over the couple’s intense relationship. The prince is said to be ‘besotted’ with the Suits actress, and he has done everything he can to impress her – from the most incredible date we’ve ever heard of, to driving 100 miles to pick her up from the airport, to creating this beautifully sentimental engagement ring, so it’s fair to say Harry appears to be going above and beyond when it comes to boyfriend duties.

It will therefore come as no surprise that the prince made a huge effort when it came to celebrating Meghan’s 36th birthday. Forget booking a table at a fancy restaurant, or going for a spa weekend – the royal decided to fly his girlfriend to Africa, where he has planned a romantic safari trip for the pair, complete with sunset dinners and stunning boat trips.

No, we aren’t jealous at all.

According to reports, they landed at their destination on Saturday and Meghan was carrying a hoard of presents as they made their way through the airport, before heading to one of Harry’s friend’s houses for a barbecue under the stars.

A friend told The Sun: ‘It was a very romantic way to celebrate her birthday and introduce her to some of Harry’s good friends.’

It has fuelled rumours that Harry will ask Meghan to marry him this year with their destination being a hotspot for couples getting engaged, as well as newlyweds celebrating their honeymoons.

The Queen has reportedly given Harry her blessing to propose to the actress, and they’re also set to move in together this summer.

Could this mean that we’ll be hearing the roaring sound of royal wedding bells very soon?

    We’ll start looking for a hat…
