Marion Cotillard clearly isn’t content with being just the face of Dior, she’s extending her involvement to go beyond the glossy ads and is designing her own handbag for the luxury label.
And she is, of course, perfectly qualified for the job as Marion is rarely been seen out of Dior clothing. To celebrate this French love affair, a new behind-the-scenes video from the fashion house hints at what we can expect showing the actress at the very early design stages.

Marion is hands on as she’s seen sketching and discussing ideas, which start with winter scenes as inspiration. Marion says she’s ‘torn’ between designing something rock and roll and a more simpler look but several times mentions she wants a houndstooth print as well as a ‘strong Dior symbol.’
She’s not all talk either, when it comes to practicality, Marion wants something that can be open at the sides but she’s careful to continue Dior’s signature finishes including transparent Cannage stitching as well as quilting effect.

While Marion seems more than at home in the new role, Dior seem equally at ease as they released a statement saying: ‘She has been the face of the Lady Dior bag since 2008, the epitome of a sophisticated and vibrant woman.
‘It was, of course, completely natural that Marion Cotillard would go on to design her own bag, her personal Lady Dior, as modern as it is timeless.’
